O URSO NA ESCURIDÃO
is a short film about a once-mighty warrior who has lost his sight. It is a deeply moving story that explores the BEAR’s internal and external battles—caught between the glory of his past as a celebrated hero and the reality of his present: blind, grieving, and haunted by the shadow of who he once was.
Director's Statement
INTO THE LIGHT is set within a dense, mystical forest, the film follows the BEAR as he struggles with the weight of his past and the challenges of his new condition. In his journey, he searches not only for resilience but also for the spark that might reawaken the sleeping warrior within.
In contrast to the BEAR’s turmoil, we encounter a LADYBUG—gentle, light, and serene—serving as a poetic counterpoint. Their meeting becomes the turning point, a fragile moment where the BEAR discovers a glimmer of inner light.
Visually, the short aspires to take the viewer closer to the blind bear's senses. Sound plays a pivotal role, heightening the BEAR’s heightened senses of hearing, touch, and smell. This unique perspective allows the audience to perceive the world as he does, creating a deeper connection with the struggles—and resilience—of those who live without sight.
